Supply Chain Analyst

We’re looking for an outstanding Supply Chain Analyst who has exposure of global supply chain management, ensuring best value performance and best in class supply. Reporting to the Procurement Manager or Procurement Lead this position will play a key role in our objective of providing minimum access surgery to all who need it. This role will be based at our Ely offices on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

  • Data modelling for demand/cost analysis, generating insights using analytical tools such as: MS Excel, MS BI, Tableau etc
  • Support development of ERP system, Dashboards and Reports for procurement requirements
  • Preparation and communication of build data packs, BOM’s, Drawings & Work Instructions to suppliers
  • Proactively communicate design changes to supply base and agree implementation and timescales accordingly
  • Take ownership for daily activities for suppliers within remit, placing PO’s, expediting, returns management, identification of supply Risks and general performance improvement.
  • Conduct market research, contract compliance reviews and ad-hoc problem solving.
  • Support sourcing new and alternative sources as necessary following new supplier guidelines
  • Prepare and manage RFIs/RFQs to ensure competitive pricing, regular benchmarking of suppliers and presentation material for stakeholder communication
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with critical and key suppliers within assigned material categories.
  • Ability to identify DFM/DFA opportunities with suppliers.
  • Develop a close working relationship with Supply chain engineers to ensure validation and quality of supply is optimised.
  • Organising and leading meetings both internally and externally with suppliers in remit
  • Monitoring of supplier performance and feedback performance for continuous improvement.
  • Visiting suppliers as part of a multifunctional team, to support the application of new designs or problem resolution.

We’re a rapidly developing company and roles can change and evolve. You’ll be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Operations Supply Chain  remit that supports the team with delivering its objectives.

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:

  • A natural communicator hopefully goes without saying, but in addition we’d like you to have:
  • Experience supporting procurement activities within any of the following categories; 

Custom MIM, CNC, milled and turned ultra-high-precision products

Design & Manufacturing knowledge of Injection-Moulding

  • Good understanding of technical terms to enable communication with suppliers and engineering
  • Strong organisation, data and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Additional professional qualification highly desirable (e.g. CIPS)
  • A self-motivated and customer focused approach
  • A flexible, responsive approach and mindset to work productively in a busy environment
  • A genuine desire to help and support team members so that we can all achieve our best
