Tax Manager

We are looking for a tax and accounting expert to manage and facilitate the accurate preparation and filing of the Group’s various direct and indirect tax submissions and influence the Group’s wider tax strategy.

This newly-created role is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to be able to provide a “top-down” view of the Group’s tax landscape as well as needing to get into the transactional detail to provide the relevant information to our external tax partners for completion of the relevant tax submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate direct and indirect tax compliance for the UK, Europe and US, ensuring that all returns are submitted on time to the relevant tax authorities
  • Collate and provide the relevant information to external service providers to ensure that all Intrastat, or equivalent, submissions are completed on time
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Logistics to ensure that all relevant Master Data in the ERP for the successful completion of the returns is kept up-to-date and is accurate
  • Collaborate with external auditors and external service providers on tax matters
  • Work with the local accounting teams to ensure all relevant information is extracted for return compilation and feeding back any adjustment entries that may be required
  • Liaison with management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues. Also, ensure that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for VAT and income taxes.
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer to ensure that the Group maintains compliance with all tax rules and regulations
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller and external tax advisors to establish and document transfer pricing policies that ensure that the Group is as tax-efficient as possible
  • Support the operations with day-to-day tax related matters
  • Manage and coordinate any tax audits as they arise

We’re a rapidly developing company and roles can change and evolve. You’ll be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Finance remit that supports the team with delivering its objectives.

About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:

  • Recognised tax or accounting qualification (eg. CTA, ACA)
  • At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience, either in industry or with a top-10 firm with a focus on taxation
  • Experience of working in or working with multi-national companies
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail is a must
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with external and internal stakeholders
  • Proficient in using relevant tools, such as ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in team environments as the task requires
