CMR Surgical and LifeHealthcare have today announced an agreement to bring the next-generation Surgical Robotic System, Versius®+ to Australia and New Zealand.
The partnership is set to further expand an already advanced surgical robotics market in Australia that is experiencing a 20% average annual growth in robotic procedures. Robotically assisted procedures are most commonly adopted in urology with approximately 10,000 procedures taking place robotically each year, but forecasts predict strong expansion across gynaecology and general surgery if existing barriers to robotics are addressed, including cost-effectiveness.i

The Versius Surgical Robotic System was awarded the European CE Mark in March 2019 and will launch in Europe shortly with an introduction into the Australian market anticipated thereafter.
