Property Manager

We’re looking for an amazing Property Manager to join our Operations Team, based at our Ely site. Reporting to Head of Operations Engineering, you will be responsible for a portfolio of properties, overseeing the maintenance, upkeep and operations of our offices and facilities. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team leading the development and implementation of the company’s property strategy; and ensuring that the offices and facilities are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with all regulations. Your role will involve managing day-to-day activities, coordinating with vendors and contractors, leading facility improvement projects, and providing leadership and direction to the team.

This role is a new role. Its remit and scope may change pending on business needs.

  • Providing leadership and management of the team on a day-to-day basis including assigning tasks, over-time and on-call provision, setting goals, monitoring progress, and providing feedback and guidance.
  • Working closely with the Health & Safety and Sustainability and Legal departments, ensuring that all property activities are appropriate, people centred, sustainable and environmentally safe and compliant with all legislation.
  • Managing budget and forecast, ensuring efficient and cost-effective use of all property.
  • Coordinating with vendors, contractors, and service providers for repairs, maintenance, installations, and other facility-related services.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans, procedures, schedules, and records to ensure the property is properly maintained and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the offices and facilities, including maintenance, repairs, cleanliness, security, and safety.
  • Leading property improvement projects, such as upgrades and expansions, from planning (including the establishment of users/stakeholders’ requirements and consideration of property constraints), to execution; and ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the offices and facilities to identify and address maintenance, safety, and security issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as HR, IT, and Finance, to address property-related needs and requirements.

About you

You’ll be reliable, organised, responsible, a great team player and able to demonstrate appropriate experience. We’re also looking for these specific skills:

  • Experience of leading, motivating and developing a team and working under delivery pressures.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to clearly prioritise and the analytical ability to resolve issues and make important decisions with determination.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment, such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, building management, maintenance, and security systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to property and facility management, safety, and security.
  • Confident in liaising and negotiating with external contractors, as necessary.
  • Ability to own, manage and deliver cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders building and sustaining productive working relationships.
  • Willingness to take responsibility and manage own time and tasks.
  • Experience in facilities/property management, maintenance, or a related field.
  • You must hold a valid UK driving license.
