Decontamination Specialist, Europe

An exciting opportunity is available at CMR Surgical for a technical specialist to visit, support and train our customers before, during and after implementation of Versius, our ground-breaking medical robot at the hospital site. This varied opportunity is fundamental to the safe integration of our system as we continue to grow globally to help more patients! This field-based role will ideally cover Spain and Portugal, but we're open to the post holder being based in Italy, Spain or Poland. The role will involve planned regular national and international travel which will be covered and supported by CMR. There is an intensive training programme, which is likely to be held remotely along with training validation in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Concurrently oversee multiple projects requiring frequent communication and collaboration between internal teams and external customers in the relevant region
  • Survey, report, train, and advise customers on the use of CMR Versius devices reprocessing instructions
  • Keep up to date with a working knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and guidance documents for medical device decontamination, reprocessing, and sterilisation
  • Conduct reprocessing, sterilisation risk assessments and input to IFU generation and reprocessing related UFMEAs
  • Update relevant documentation for existing products to ensure compliance with country-specific requirements and international standards
  • Deliver offsite sterilisation, reprocessing and decontamination training to customers in the SSD (Sterile Services Departments) team at hospitals

We’re a rapidly developing company and roles can change and evolve. You’ll be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Decontamination team remit that supports the team with delivering its objectives.

About you

You will need to be enthusiastic about sterilisation and decontamination, and their significance for multi-use medical devices. You should enjoy working both independently and as part of a cross-functional team, interacting with clinicians, engineers, medical professionals, technicians and business partners.

In addition you'll need:

  • Strong relevant experience working within instrument reprocessing, sterilisation and/or decontamination
  • Experience of training and auditing healthcare professionals
  • Knowledge of terminology and common procedures including an appreciation of best practice and the challenges of working in this environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare Sterile Services departments
  • A genuine interest and passion for training and educating groups of professionals
  • Ability to build relationships with key customers and contribute within a team environment
  • Comfortable working with highly technical material, particularly a strong ability to present the complex in clear, simple terms
  • Fluent in English and one other European language

This role will require extensive travel (up to 80% ), to spend time with customers in the field – the method of travel will vary depending on hospital location, not all are accessible by public transport.
