We’re looking for an exceptional Repair Technician to join our Production and Repair Team, based in our state of the art facilities at Ely. Reporting to the Cell leader, this position will play a key role in carrying out the repair and maintenance of surgical robotic systems and sub-assemblies and will contribute towards our aim of bring minimum access surgery to everyone who needs it.

This role is based on-site at our Ely premises.

Responsibilities

As a Repair Technician, you will be taking responsibility for:  

• The repair and build of integrated robotic systems and other electro-mechanical sub-systems (e.g. robotic joints and other field replaceable units)?following protocols and work instructions?
• Testing, calibrating or commissioning of integrated electro-mechanical assemblies and robotic systems using pre-defined instructions.?
• Carrying out 1st level diagnosing of returnable FRUs (Field Replacement Units)
• Maintaining records of work and work environment to a high standard

We’d expect you to be willing to turn your hand to anything within the Production and Repair remit that helps the team deliver its objectives.

About you

Knowledge and skills

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:

• Proven practical experience of high-tech assembly or test (preferably within a regulated environment such as medical/pharmaceutical or aerospace)
• A can-do attitude for a variety of tasks including, for example, 6S, good stock control
• The flexibility to tackle a variety of tasks and an appetite for new ones
• A strong problem-solving mindset?
• Attention to detail and quality with a willingness to continually improve processes?
• The ability to keep accurate records, in line with cGMP?
• Comfortable with different supporting processes supporting the department, such as an ERP system, MES, ticketing system ( Jira)
• An ability to train and coach others
• Good written English is essential, as is the ability to use Microsoft Office suite tools, including Excel

Qualifications and Experience

• Desirable relevant NVQ / BTEC qualification, and at least 5 GCSEs at greater than C grade, or equivalent
• Experience using test/measurement equipment such as bench power supplies, multi-meters and oscilloscopes?
